For many boys and girls in Guatemala, being part of the educational system represents a challenge. Many are the aspects that cause a large part of the educational population to drop out each year, from family problems to the economic situation that hits Guatemala. During 2020, due to the pandemic, it is estimated that 40% of students who attend the pre-primary level have left educational centers. As an organization this situation is alarming, so our work today more than ever is of great importance.

With your support we can guarantee a quality education for each boy and girl. Currently we need more people with good hearts to join this cause to transform the lives of Guatemalan children through education. In CANIGUATEMALA there have been many success stories, one of them is the case of Dorcas who, together with her two little brothers, have managed to continue with their studies over the years.

Dorcas and her little brothers live in Jocotenango, Sacatepéquez. Like many of the children who are beneficiaries of our organization, the economic and social difficulties of the country have affected their quality of life, but not their desire to improve. Her parents, who have been a key part of her development, for 5 years decided to be part of the project, where Dorcas began her studies and over time her little brothers joined.

Dorcas is currently in the fifth grade of primary school. She is an enthusiastic and happy girl. She has been part of the school band at the school and is distinguished by her great desire to participate. To this success are added his little brothers who are in nursery school and first grade. With your support, we will know that these children will have access to tools and new opportunities that will expand their development.
